McKinley Technology High School opened on September 1, 2004 and offers a learning environment that is digitally enhanced to support academic achievement. Teachers and students engage in project based curriculum that has the rigor of a first class liberal arts education and the job skills development of a technical program. McKinley Technology High School provides students the opportunity to pursue an intense focus in bio/medical technology, information technology, engineering, or mass media and communication. Specific program concentrations are in plant and molecular biotechnology, forensics, interactive media, networking, computer science and 3-D modeling, journalism, print and broadcast media, podcasting and webcasting, robotics and aeronautics.

I am a seventh grader . I attend hardy middle school and I am loking forward to attending Mickenly Tech for 9th grade. I also live in DC. I am commited to doing work . And I really woul dlike to get accepted to go to this school to make my parents proud . I love science im not a huge fan of math but think I can make it happen.I am also realy good with technology an dcomputer and I beleve that when that I have teh qualities to excell t this school. When I grow up I want to be a doctor does anyone think I will get accepted? and what is it like being a student at MT?
adn i would liek a student of mickenly tech to advice me on how i can achive my goal into becoming a freshman at Mickenly tech in 2012?
Time is zooming by. I received the first 3 applications for school year 2010-11 this week. If you are a good student interested in math, science, and technology, please download the application. The completed applications are due no later than the close of business January 22, 2010.

Information for all prospective students for 2010-11:
1. Do a great job in school this year.
2. Applications for school year 2010-11 will be posted on the website at the beginning of October 2009. These will be due no later than January 22, 2010.
3. MTHS students need to be strong in math, science, and technology and have an interest in our 4 programs: Biotechnology, Engineering, Information Technology, and Mass Media. We look at grades, attendance, behavior, and standardized test scores to select our students.
4. Our Open Houses this year will be held on Saturdays, October 17 and November 14, 2009 at 10am in the auditorium. Please join us!
ps. For the MTHS student that asked "what does modeling have to do with technology" the answer is 3-D Modeling is a big part of programming in Information Technology. We are not talking about fashion modeling.
