Shared Decision-Making and Communication
McKinley Technology Education Campus ensures that parents and family members are involved in the development and review of the schoolwide plan. We maintain open lines of communication through monthly newsletters, town hall meetings, and digital platforms to ensure every family is heard.
- Regular Parent Advisory Council (PAC) meetings.
- Direct feedback via annual school surveys.
- Bi-weekly updates from school leadership.
Involvement and Assistance on Academic Progress
We empower families to support their child's academic success by providing clear data and instructional strategies. Teachers provide regular progress reports and clear explanations of the STEM-focused curriculum and state assessments.
Capacity Building for Educators and Families
The school conducts workshops for staff on how to effectively reach out to, communicate with, and work with parents as equal partners. Simultaneously, family workshops focus on digital literacy and student wellness to strengthen the home-school connection.
Development of School-Parent Compact
The school-parent compact outlines how parents, the entire school staff, and students will share the responsibility for improved student academic achievement and the means by which the school and parents will build and develop a partnership to help children achieve high standards.
Adoption
This Parent and Family Engagement Policy has been developed jointly with, and agreed on with, parents of children participating in Title I, Part A programs. This policy was adopted by McKinley Technology Education Campus on September 1, 2026, and will be in effect for the period of the 2026–27 school year.
