DCPS Bullying Policy
Definition of Bullying
Bullying of any person or any group of persons is prohibited. We are committed to a safe and nurturing environment for all students. Our policy strictly forbids bullying, harassment, and intimidation in any form. Students are encouraged to report any incidents of bullying immediately to a trusted staff member or through our anonymous reporting system.
Parental Involvement
Parental involvement is a key pillar of our prevention strategy; we encourage parents to engage in open dialogue with school administration regarding any concerns. We provide ongoing training for educators and resources for families to foster a culture of respect and empathy within McKinley Technology High School.
Cyber-Bullying
Cyber-bullying, including the use of electronic communication to harass or threaten others, is treated with the same severity as physical bullying and will result in disciplinary action.
DCPS strives to provide students with optimal conditions for learning by maintaining a school environment where everyone is treated with respect and no one is physically or emotionally harmed. Acts of bullying by students are strictly prohibited on school premises; at any school-sponsored activity or event on and off DCPS grounds; on public and school transportation, including stop locations; using school property or equipment; walking to and from school; or in any other place where a student has access to DCPS-provided technology.
