2026-27 Uniform Policy
McKinley Technology HS maintains a standard of professional dress to foster a focused and inclusive STEM learning environment. Our uniform policy ensures students are prepared for academic success and future professional endeavors. All students are required to adhere to the policy daily, including participation in our annual Polo Fundraiser which supports school programs while providing students with high-quality, logo-branded apparel.
Uniform Requirements
Polo Shirts
Navy or Gold with school logo. Required for all students as part of the daily uniform fundraiser expectations.
Bottoms
Khaki or Black chinos/slacks. Must be worn at the waist. No jeans, leggings, or athletic wear permitted.
Outerwear
Official school hoodies or sweaters only. Non-McKinley outerwear must be stored in lockers during school hours.

Uniform Policy Overview
McKinley Tech students are expected to dress for success. The uniform creates a professional STEM environment, minimizing distractions and focusing on academic excellence. Standard attire includes official school tops and approved bottoms.
Professionalism in STEM
Dressing appropriately is part of the engineering and technological culture. By adhering to the dress code, students practice the 'Soft Skills' required in high-stakes internships and professional laboratories.
Appropriate Outerwear
Only official MTHS logo sweatshirts, hoodies, and jackets are permitted indoors. All non-school outerwear (coats, non-logo hoodies) must be stored in student lockers upon arrival and should not be worn in classrooms.
Pants & Bottoms Criteria
Students must wear khaki or black slacks/chinos. Athletic wear, leggings, joggers, and blue jeans are not part of the standard professional dress and are strictly prohibited during normal school hours.
